Features and Benefits
Why use nACRoA
nACRoA is applicable to HSS and carbide tooling and for forming and forging operations. nACRoA has shown great results in machining a wide variety of hardened steels up to 54 HRC both with and without coolant as well as low alloy steels and high tensile steels. nACRoA has best success at high cutting speeds. If you cant achieve high cutting speeds the coat will wear off quickly and you should revert to TiCN or TiN. I would use nACRoA as the first choice in High Temp Alloy, soft steel that can be run at very high surface foot, Stainless and hardened steel. At proper use or heat you will see a thin black line that is the oxidation process, the darker the line the closer you are to ideal use.
Benefits of Carbide
Carbide is the most versatile material for cutting all materials. This should be the first choice for rigid cutting. Carbide comes in many different varieties of toughness and hardness. Round tools are limited in varsity as they are extruded. Inserts come in hundreds of combinations as they are sintered and pressed.
When to use Variable Helix
Variable Helix is becoming the standard for all milling tools. It is used to dampen vibration as the flutes enter and exit the material. Depending on the type of variables these tools work great for long reach, slotting, and roughing. Down fall is variable tools like high helix tools can pull out of shrink fit, collets and milling chucks. Weldon flat when roughing is preferred and most failures are chipping from pulling out of work holding
