Features and Benefits

Why use AlTIN

AlTIN is applicable to HSS and carbide tooling. AlTIN has shown great results in machining a wide variety material from General Steel, Iron, Stainless, High Temp and Hardened Steel with and without coolant. AlTIN is a great choice for general machining at elevated surface foot. The flank of the cutting edge should form a dark black line. The thicker the line the closer you are to achieving proper cutting parameters. This line is the oxidization process being finished as heat is generated. To thin a line or no black line means you are not generating enough heat that could cause coating to rub off.

Benefits of Carbide

Carbide is the most versatile material for cutting all materials. This should be the first choice for rigid cutting. Carbide comes in many different varieties of toughness and hardness. Round tools are limited in varsity as they are extruded. Inserts come in hundreds of combinations as they are sintered and pressed.
