The Hanita/Widia Widia Series Mills is a Standard length TiAlN coated 45 deg cham Powder Metal Fine Rougher. It has a single end, and a weldon flat shank. This mill is capable of cutting Steel 20 – 40 HRc,CAST IRON For further size a specification data, please view the Additional Information Tab
Features and Benefits
Why use TiAlN
TiAlN is the most common coating used for machining Steel, Stainless, High Temp and Iron. This coating is good for high speed machining and is very stable in all cutting conditions. TiAlN takes rubbing better than some of its newer upgrades. This coating shows the most evident oxidization or black line behind cutting edge. This black area is a great indicator of proper use, the larger the black line the better your life will be. First choice coating for most machining.
Advatages to Powder Metal
Powder Metal falls between Carbiden and Cobalt on the hardness scale. Particals can can be up to 78HRc but average hardness is 73HRc. Powder metal come in many different blends and is used when carbide is fracturing and Cobalt is wearing from heat. This is a great alternative to carbide as it can be ground to very sharp edge do to its small partical density. It can take high load cutting at close to carbide surface footage. It excells in high temp alloy machining as with its ability to have sharp edge and toughness in high tensile strengh aplications. It is used many times in aplications wear machine tool cant acheive recomended surface footage for carbide.
