The Yg-1 Asp is a Standard length TiN coated square Powder Metal Finisher. It has a single end, and a weldon flat shank. This mill is capable of cutting Steel 20 – 40 HRc,CAST IRON For further size a specification data, please view the Additional Information Tab
Features and Benefits
Why use TIN
Tin should be used in low surface foot or low heat cutting. It is a great top coating for many other coatings. It gives the best view of wear, making it an operators first choice if possible. Good for tools that taper were surface footage is low or fricion with limited heat may occur.
Advatages to Powder Metal
Powder Metal falls between Carbiden and Cobalt on the hardness scale. Particals can can be up to 78HRc but average hardness is 73HRc. Powder metal come in many different blends and is used when carbide is fracturing and Cobalt is wearing from heat. This is a great alternative to carbide as it can be ground to very sharp edge do to its small partical density. It can take high load cutting at close to carbide surface footage. It excells in high temp alloy machining as with its ability to have sharp edge and toughness in high tensile strengh aplications. It is used many times in aplications wear machine tool cant acheive recomended surface footage for carbide.
